The role Matt LeBlanc was born to play is coming to an end. Showtime announced Monday that the fifth season of Episodes, which begins production next week in London, will be its last. Co-creator Jeffrey Klarik will direct all seven episodes of the final season, which is slated for a 2017 premiere. Episodes will pick up with meta-Matt LeBlanc as the host of a successful game show called The Box, and the world forgetting that he was actually a famous actor even though he’s got all that Friends money. British writing team Sean and Beverly (Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig) are working for a terrible showrunner, and Carol (Kathleen Rose Perkins) is jobless and penniless. There’s no business like show business, but there is a place called hell.
