The beloved and quick Looney Tunes character Speedy Gonzales may be getting his own movie, reports Deadline. Mexican filmmaker and actor Eugenio Derbez is attached to voice Speedy. (The move to cast a Mexican actor is a great decision and a clear improvement over the original voice of Speedy: Mel Blanc, who was of Russian-Jewish descent.) The working title of the animated film is Speedy, although the filmmakers might want to workshop the title to clarify that this isn’t a movie about fast cars.
