Tina Fey and Tituss Burgess Kill a Musical-Theater Duet, So It Turns Out There Is Literally Nothing Tina Fey Is Bad At

A number from Tituss’s all-black production of Oklahoma!, Alabama!, might have been the obvious choice, but Tituss Burgess and Tina Fey wisely went with “You’re Nothing Without Me” for their duet at the annual MCC Theater Miscast Gala. It was obvious Tituss could sing (see also: the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt one-man production of The Lion King), but Tina Fey? Come on! The number, from the 1989 musical City of Angels, is a duet between a writer and said writer’s fictional creation. Sure, it would have been nice if the real-life Tina Fey had written the fictional Tituss with not quite so many skin tags, but it’s what made him the character we know and love today.
