More like one performance, plus, presumably, months and months of non-stop Tracy Morgan jokes from his hospital bed. Two year after surviving a devastating car crash, the 30 Rock star performed at New Brunswick’s State Theatre to an audience that included the paramedics, doctors, and nurses of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital that treated him following the accident. “Last night was one of the most special nights of my life,” Morgan told People. “To be standing onstage with the people that saved my life in the audience was an overwhelming experience. I will never fully be able to thank the doctors, nurses, first responders, and everyone else that got me back on that stage enough.” In addition to donating the show’s proceeds to the hospital, Morgan asked that the lights be turned on and his health care providers share his standing ovation, before inviting them backstage for photos and hugs. Because without their fine work, Tracy could never again take anyone behind the middle school and get them pregnant.
