You work with Beyoncé one time and suddenly you think you can drop an album out of the blue: James Blake, who has a song nearly all to himself on Lemonade, has announced that — surprise! — his third album is out tonight. After teasing its title, The Colour in Anything, on billboards all week, he revealed to Annie Mac that the 17-song album would drop at midnight in the U.K. (7 p.m. ET). He also premiered two songs, “I Need a Forest Fire” featuring his good friend Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver), and “Radio Silence” (the album’s former title). He previously released the songs “Modern Soul” and “Timeless.” In addition to Beyoncé’s haunting “Forward,” he also co-wrote Lemonade’s intro, “Pray You Catch Me” — so you could say it’s a good time to be James Blake. Listen to both songs (“Radio Silence” at 1:30 and “I Need a Forest Fire” at 12:05), as well as Blake’s full interview below.
