Watch Fran Adams and Steve Carell Play a Game of ‘6 Reasons’ in 1991

Welcome to The Second City Archives, in which we post an exclusive clip each week of some of comedy’s biggest superstars performing early in their careers on the legendary Chicago stage. Second City has generously given us a glimpse into their extensive archive of live performances, and over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing some rare and retro comedy never before seen on the web.

This week’s clip comes from Second City’s 1991 revue Economy of Errors featuring ensemble performers Fran Adams, Steve Carell, Michael McCarthy, Tim O’Malley, John Rubano, Jill Talley, and Ron West. In the above clip, Adams and Carell take audience suggestions for a game of “6 Reasons,” where they act out a scene as an American Revolution-era couple who do what American Revolution-era couples did all the time: hang out in a sauna while discussing some of their (very similar) marital issues. Check out some more clips from Economy of Errors here and here.
