A Whole Flock of Broadway Stars Got Together to Record ‘What the World Needs Now Is Love’ for Orlando

If these people were asking for kidneys, they’d have both of mine already. In order to honor the victims of the attacks at a gay nightclub in Orlando last week, some of Broadway’s biggest stars came together to record a version of the classic song “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” The single can be purchased at BroadwayRecords.com for $1.99, and all proceeds go to the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida. The impressive vocal cast, brought together by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, includes Sara Bareilles, Kristen Bell, Wayne Brody, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Gloria Estefan, Fran Drescher, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Whoopi Goldberg, Sean Hayes, Nathan Lane, Idina Menzel, Jessie Mueller, Audra McDonald, Carole King, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Rosie Perez, Bernadette Peters, and more. See all of their adorable faces in a video from the recording session above.
