TVLine reports that after a soap-worthy sequence of events — from cliffhanger to cancellation to resurrection — Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, Nashville’s key reasons for being, are likely sticking around for season five. Other members of the cast who are expected to follow Nashville in its move to CMT include Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, and Chris Carmack. The sigh of relief comes after the news that Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples had been cut from the show. So much for Vulture’s dreams of Connie Britton’s return to the Sorkin-verse. Maybe she can fit it in during her hiatus, you know, if she walks and talks really fast.
