Jennifer Lawrence has finally found a director who’ll cast her as someone her own age: According to Deadline, she’s joined Adam McKay’s untitled film about Theranos, the controversial blood-testing business that’s being investigated for potentially lying about its technology. (The medical start-up recently voided two years of test results.) Lawrence will play the company’s CEO, Elizabeth Holmes, once “the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire,” which sounds like just the kind of messy, complex role she can knock out of the park. Or at least, according to Deadline, she’ll “embody” Holmes, which could mean we’ll have another Joy situation where no one in the movie uses any proper nouns.
