Now’d be a good time to settle in for that long-postponed Halt and Catch Fire marathon, because Mackenzie Davis just joined the Blade Runner sequel. Her character hasn’t been announced, but she’s inevitability going to be a robot, or a hallucination, or a robot hallucination, or maybe just an ordinary human (*gasp*). Davis joins a cast that includes Harrison Ford (playing Deckard, his character from the original), Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, and Carla Juri (boy, the future sure is full of white people). Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) is directing the sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 film. In addition to Halt, Davis also appeared in The Martian, and she’s set for a role in an upcoming episode of Black Mirror. Get to know your new Canadian sweetheart, nerds, because Mackenzie Davis is sticking around!
