While performing at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA, Paul Simon paused “The Boxer,” a track off the Simon & Garfunkel album Bridge Over Troubled Water, to announce the death of Muhammad Ali. “I’m sorry to tell you this way,” he says, “But Muhammad Ali passed away.” He then goes right back into “The Boxer.” You can read tributes to Ali, who died Friday at 74, including President Obama’s impassioned elegy, here.
