ABC, CBS, and MTV to Air Specials on Dallas Shootings

In the wake of the shooting of police officers in Dallas Thursday, several TV networks have announced plans for special coverage this weekend. CBS News will air a one-hour special of its investigative series 48 Hours, dubbed “48 Hours: Bringing a Nation Together,” anchored by Maurice DuBois, this Saturday at 10 p.m. Additionally, ABC News is planning a special live edition of 20/20, “America in Crisis: Ambush in Dallas,” led by David Muir and Elizabeth Vargas, to air tonight at 9 p.m. The network has also announced a five-part series, “America in Black and White,” which will start on Monday, July 11. MTV and BET, meanwhile, are teaming up for a simultaneous live broadcast of “What Now? An MTV News and BET Town Hall,” tonight at 10 p.m. That will be hosted by Marc Lamont Hill, Charlamagne Tha God, Jamil Smith, and Franchesca Ramsey, with a group of artists and activists “discussing the issues underlying this latest round in a cycle of violence and tragedy in America.”
