Someone get Amandla Stenberg a few dozen EpiPens and ibuprofen boxes, stat. Stenberg will be starring in a film adaptation of Nicola Yoon’s best-selling young-adult novel, Everything Everything, in which she’ll be portraying a teenager named Maddy who’s allergic to practically everything. (Fellow cool teen Nick Robinson is also in final negotiations to play Olly, her co-star and love interest.) Stenberg’s character suffers from a rare disease called severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), and because of it, has spent 17 years hiding in her home, choosing to only interact with her mom and nurse. When Olly moves next door, though, Maddy slowly comes out of her shell and begins to fall in love with him. We have a feeling we’ll be breaking out the Kleenex for this one.
