Got any offbeat oddballs in your municipality, hamlet, or village? Perhaps a friendly choir teacher with a deranged secret, or a kindhearted dogcatcher secretly operating a heroin ring? Well, if so, please send all relevant details to Jack Black, so he might portray them in a feature film. Deadline reports that Jason Schwartzman and Jacki Weaver have joined Black’s upcoming dark comedy, The Man Who Would Be Polka King, which is based on the documentary of the same name and written and directed by Infinitely Polar Bear’s Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky. The Bernie actor will star as Jan Lewan, “a Pennsylvania polka sensation who unwittingly brought a town to its knees in a Ponzi scheme.” Filming will begin as soon as production secures the correct weird jacket, absurd mustache, and/or horrible wig.
