After nearly a decade spent in music-industry purgatory, JoJo (not that one) finally has a new album coming out: The former teen star’s third LP, Mad Love, will be released October 14. It’ll be JoJo’s first album since 2006’s The High Road, which was followed by a years-long legal battle with her label that left the “Leave” singer unable to officially release new music. That era ended in a 2014 court victory, and JoJo has spent the subsequent years opening for Fifth Harmony, releasing EPs, and inventing the word “tringle.” The announcement of Mad Love also brings the album’s first single, “Fuck Apologies,” featuring Wiz Khalifa, which will hopefully do its part to heal the longstanding tensions between Boston and Pittsburgh.
