Alan Ball continues to be right at home at HBO. The Six Feet Under and True Blood creator has received a new series order and a two-year overall deal from the network, as first reported by Deadline. The upcoming, untitled Ball series will focus on a “contemporary multiracial family” consisting of a philosophy professor, his lawyer wife, their three adopted children from Somalia, Vietnam, and Colombia, and their sole biological child. But “this seemingly perfect, progressive family is in actuality harboring deep rifts,” and one of the children “begins to see things others cannot.” Overall, the series is described as a “tragicomic meditation on the complicated forces at work on us all in America today.” We’re sure the finale will be sublime.
