The Walking Dead Adds Four More Series Regulars, Which Probably Isn’t a Guarantee That They Won’t Die

The Walking Dead has bumped four actors up to series regulars for the upcoming seventh season: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Tom Payne, Xander Berkeley, and Austin Amelio. In a surprise to no one, Morgan, who plays the archvillain Negan, was likely to stick around for the season. Then there’s Tom Payne, who plays Jesus, the Hilltop member who joins Rick’s crew; Xander Berkeley plays Gregory, the leader of the Hilltop colony; and Austin Amelio plays Dwight, one of Negan’s Saviors who double-crossed Daryl after getting his aid. But just because they’re series regulars doesn’t mean they’re safe! (See: Sarah Wayne Callies, and Tovah Feldshuh, and Merritt Wever, and Michael Traynor, and …) This brings The Walking Dead’s regular series cast to 20, but of course, that number will drop down to 19 with the season premiere.
