Jenji Kohan’s new Netflix comedy just found its star. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alison Brie will play the lead role in GLOW, which the streaming network ordered to series in March. Based on the ‘80s show of the same name, GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) tells “the fictionalized story of an out-of-work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.” Brie will star in the 10-episode series as Ruth, “whose dreams of fame take a surprising turn when she’s thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women’s wrestling.”
