In Bad Boys 2, Will Smith’s Detective Mike Lowrey told his partner, Marcus Burnett, “We ride together. We die together. Bad boys for life.” Well, Mike Lowrey tells no lies, and that quote has given way to a new official title for the third installment in this buddy-cop franchise. So, get ready for Bad Boys for Life, which has just been slated for release on January 12, 2018, according to Entertainment Weekly. Joe Carnahan (The Grey, The A-Team) will take over directing duties from Michael Bay, but Smith and Lawrence will blessedly be reprising their roles as Miami’s most exciting and wise-cracking law-enforcement duo. The plot of Bad Boys for Life is yet to be disclosed, but that hasn’t stopped Sony Pictures from setting up a July 3, 2019 release for Bad Boys 4, which will come 24 years and three months after the franchise debuted in 1995.
