Charli XCX is a good friend to have if you’re a fellow upstart Brit looking to break out in pop music. Singer Raye (real name: Rachel Keen), is 18-years-old and hails from South London. She signed with Universal Music Group’s Polydor Records imprint early last year and describes her sound as “pop, R&B, electro.” She has also drawn early comparisons to Rihanna, which is a pretty good position to be in for someone who’s just starting out. Her new song “I, U, Us” is a breakup track that’s saturated with synth and has that kind of heavy-hitting chorus that starts a party in your ears. The accompanying video also has Charli as a director.

Fortunately, Raye and Charli agreed that an ice rink was the ideal place for them to stage everything, so now you can get the words “Iiiiiiiii, youuuuuuuuu, uuuuuuussssssss” stuck in your head while you plan your next birthday party around ice skating with all your best friends. And if you feel like you can almost hear Her Lady XCX singing in the chorus, that’s probably because the earworm master co-wrote the song. The British are coming! Again!
