If you were hoping Barb from Stranger Things would one day roar out of the Upside Down like a Barb out of hell, taking on the Demogorgon with only a flame thrower and a thirst for revenge like some kind of Ripley in mom jeans, well, maybe stop reading now. Also, stop reading now if you don’t want to read potential spoilers for a season that does not yet have shape or form. During an interview with show creators Matt and Ross Duffer, IGN asked whether or not your favorite Stranger Things character will have somehow pulled through for season two. “I can’t see it happening,” Matt Duffer replied. “But Barb will not be forgotten. We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We’re just not spending any screen time on it.” Duffer went on to hint that the second season will focus on the aftermath of the first. “It’s not like her parents are like, ‘Oh, Barb left. She died!’ Season one actually takes place over the course of six or seven days — it’s a really short period of time. So part of what we want to do with hypothetical season two is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened,” he explained. Rest in Jeans, Barb. You died as you lived: an awesome supervirgin.
