Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson might seem like Hollywood’s friendly and charismatic Herculean-statue-come-to-life, but even the star of such family friendly fare as Tooth Fairy and Game Plan has limits to his jovial patience — and that limit, according to his Instagram, is “candy asses.” Johnson, who is wrapping up filming Fast 8, explained on the ’gram, “There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one.” Though he was all compliments for the crew, studio, and his female co-stars, his tone changed when it came to several unnamed members of the testosterone-drenched cast. “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t,” Johnson wrote. “The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.” Uh-oh, did Vin Diesel retaliate after that crack about his size and looks in Ballers? Did Jason Statham win a much-coveted title for most ridiculous action movie? Unclear, but regardless of the drama, it’s a safe bet Johnson will be back for Fast and the Furious 9, emphasis on the “furious.” Read the Instagram post in full below.
This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. UNIVERSAL has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ‘em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling - you’re right. Bottom line is it’ll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that’s embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part😉.
