Jimmy Fallon Set to Host the 2017 Golden Globes

Sorry, Ricky Gervais – it’s just been revealed that the 74th Annual Golden Globes is going in a new direction, tapping Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon to emcee awards show on January 8, 2017.

Since 2010, the Globes have had two (well, technically three) hosts, with Gervais taking the stage from 2010-2012, and again in 2016, and a brief (but beautiful!) stint from Amy Poehler and Tina Fey from 2013-2015.

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt made the announcement this morning at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, saying “[w]e’ve found the best possible host to make the evening really memorable and that’s Jimmy Fallon.”
