Melissa McCarthy’s Life of the Party is getting even livelier. The college-set comedy production, which will be directed by McCarthy’s husband, Ben Falcone, has already taken on Maya Rudolph, Gillian Jacobs, Matt Walsh, and Jacki Weaver, and now The Hollywood Reporter adds that Modern Family’s Julie Bowen will be joining the cast as well. But we still don’t know any more about the story besides the fact that it’s being compared to Rodney Dangerfield’s 1986 movie Back to School, and that the script was written by McCarthy. Walsh will play her onscreen husband, Rudolph will be her neurotic best friend, and Bowen will be her nemesis, because every college comedy heroine needs a blonde archrival.
