Superman may be (spoiler alert) a little less than alive in the DC cinematic universe, but his solo-movie prospects appear to be quite healthy. Henry Cavill’s Metropolis hero is set to make his return in next year’s hotly anticipated Justice League, but after that, he may get his own flick. Sources told The Wrap that a sequel to 2013’s franchise-launching Man of Steel is in “active development,” which sort of makes sense, given that the first one is the only movie in the cinematic universe to rate higher than 30 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. No word on when it would come out, though DC has a few gaps for as-yet-unannounced movies in 2018 and 2019, one of which may end up being the Ben Affleck–directed Batman solo outing. Fight on, you grim crusaders.
