Marc Maron, who has never let the fact that he’s not a gorgeous lady of wrestling hold him back, has joined the cast of Netflix’s ‘80s drama Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (or G.L.O.W. for short). Maron will star as Sam Sylvia, a washed-up Hollywood director with “a very complicated history with women” who helps a group of 14 ladies create their own wrestling show. Alison Brie also stars, alongside Nurse Jackie’s Betty Gilpin. Orange Is the New Black’s Jenji Kohan is producing the series, which was created by Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange Is the New Black). Midway through the first episode, Maron will sit down Brie and ask, “So, what are your comedic influences?”
