Not long after renewing three shows, Seeso has announced a brand new series. According to Deadline, the streaming network has given a series order to a half-hour comedy called Shrink, which won the Best Comedy Pilot award at the 2012 New York TV Festival. Created by Tim Baltz (Drunk History, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$) and Ted Tremper (The Daily Show), the series stars Baltz as “a recent medical school graduate who loses his residency and finds himself unemployed with a half million dollars of student loan debt. With his dream of becoming a ‘real doctor’ dashed, he discovers a loophole to becoming a therapist by recording 1,920 supervised clinical hours, which he begins by soliciting unorthodox patients from Craigslist and conducts the free sessions in his parents’ garage.” Chuck Martin (Arrested Development) will direct and serve as showrunner on the series, which begins shooting this fall in Chicago.
