If you were planning on skipping Hairspray Live! when it airs in December, think again, because today Entertainment Weekly reports that NBC just made a great addition to the cast: Billy Eichner. Eichner joins previously announced cast members including Harvey Fierstein, Maddie Baillio, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Martin Short, Andrea Martin, Rosie O’Donnell, Sean Hayes, and more, and he’ll play a small role in the second act as Rob Barker, “a local TV newscaster for Baltimore’s WZZT who reports on Tracy Turnblad’s escape from the law and her attempt to integrate The Corny Collins Show.” This will make Eichner’s second musical role this year following his impressive performance in Carter: The Musical on Difficult People last month:
