The long, depressing saga continues. Dr. Luke filed a lawsuit Friday against Kesha’s mother, Pebe Sebert, who he claims “continued to publicly defame” him after he first sued her for defamation back in 2014. After Sebert refused to allow an amendment to the original suit, Dr. Luke filed yet another. According to Dr. Luke’s lawyer Christine Lepera, “after we originally filed suit against Pebe Sebert, she continued to make outrageous, false, and defamatory statements against Dr. Luke in her widespread media campaign to damage him and smear his name.” As you might have suspected, those statements largely revolve around Kesha’s rape allegations against her former producer. The Wrap identified several statements in the new suit, including a November 2015 tweet in which Sebert declared, “Kesha can’t legally put out music unless she makes it under complete control of a man who raped her at 18,” and a March 2016 Billboard interview. Kesha’s mom dropped her countersuit against Dr. Luke back in April, but who knows where this long, horrible road will continue to take us all?
