We Heard You Like Parodies, So Here’s James Carville and Dee Dee Myers Parodying a Documentary Now! Political Parody

No, Winners: A Political Retrospective is sadly not an actual documentary featuring political strategist James Carville and former White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers. (Although we could probably listen to people complain about Carville’s pants all day.) Rather, in celebration of Documentary Now!’s second season premiere on September 14, Carville and Myers got together to aptly parody one of this season’s subjects, which itself will be parodied on the show: The War Room, the documentary that focused on Carville and George Stephanopoulos as they led Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign in 1992. But instead of The War Room, Carville and Myers fondly reminisce about the fake-documentary The Bunker, which “changed the way people perceived campaigns” by chronicling the yin and yang relationship between two tremendously influential political figures — played by Bill Hader and Fred Armisen — during another presidential campaign. (The video was created in partnership with CNN’s branded-content studio, Courageous.) Now that’s what we call Cajun style.
