Well fuck me gently with a chainsaw, TV Land is making Heathers into a “comedic anthology,” and they got Leslye Headland to direct, THR reports. The Sleeping With Other People director, who appeared on our list of 100 female directors Hollywood should hire, will helm the pilot for the modern-day reboot, which takes place in a world where “the outcasts have become high school royalty.” (One of the Heathers is now a black lesbian; another is gender-queer.) This is the same conceit used by the 21 Jump Street movie, which makes us wonder if there’s some sort of ‘80s-reboot cheat sheet going around. Either way, Headland celebrated the news by proving she knows her way around a good quote:
