Nicki Minaj surprised fans when she shared a new song, called “The Pinkprint Freestyle,” on her Soundcloud. According to Billboard, Minaj references Harambe the gorilla (“I’m dragging these hoes like Harambe did the kid”) and includes parts of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” The first part of “The Pinkprint Freestyle” is also recorded over the instrumental for Young M.A’s “OOOUUU.” She compares herself to Jay Z, rapping, “It’s the female Jay / I’m a brand according to what retail say / Yeah, my tours be selling out on pre-sale day / plus I got the title ‘Queen,’ press replay.” Minaj hasn’t released new music since her 2014 album, The Pinkprint, and she recently appeared in Ariana Grande’s “Side to Side” video.
