Miley Cyrus and Ellen DeGeneres might not seem completely interchangeable, but when there’s a crisis in more than six scenes because Ellen’s sick and can’t host her show, you do what’s necessary for the people. On Wednesday, Miley filled in on Ellen as guest host, which is great news for Ellen, but quite disorienting for you, the daytime viewer, expecting America’s Mom. Even so, Miley put on all of the denim she could find (“I’ve never hosted a show with my clothes on before”), sent some get-well molly in lieu of chicken soup to Ellen, and sold the shit out of Ellen’s bad jokes as well as all of her sponsored content. The noted animal hoarder even sold you cat week. Give her a share of that eventual Emmy!
