Tenement life is a rich, complicated part of the urban experience. Or if you ask the Pixies, the cartoonish height of human squalor. Their new video for “Tenement Song,” created by Britain’s Krank! Collective, follows an intrepid rat through the teeming masses of an apartment building populated by gamblers, loners, and babies in pretty rough shape. That Fish Lady seems all right, though. Owning a thousand fish tanks and just as many TVs seems just fine, considering all the alternatives.
