Just two months ago, musician, poet, and Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan was named president of TNA Wrestling. Now, it seems the love affair has been hit on the back with a folding chair (metaphorically). TMZ reports that Corgan, a longtime wrestling fan who had been involved with TNA for nearly two years before taking the presidential mantle in August, has filed a lawsuit and restraining order against TNA owner and chairman Dixie Carter and her husband, Serg Salias, as well as TNA Wrestling and Impact Ventures, TNA’s parent company. Back in August, Carter described Corgan in glowing terms, saying in a press release announcing his promotion, “Billy is a visionary, an iconic artist and savvy businessman with an incredibly gifted creative mind.” It’s not clear yet what threw this relationship against the ropes so quickly, but we’ll keep our ears to the mat in the meantime.
