Sometimes you need a breather between exploring mankind’s struggle with power, temptation, and control and, well, exploring mankind’s struggle with power, temptation, and control. Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock initially aired on HBO in 1983, and later this year its 96-episode run will return to the network, digitally restored and in HD. As any child of the ‘80s will remember, Fraggle Rock follows a species of cheerful underground Muppets and explores themes like friendship, overcoming prejudice, and the environment in song. Almost never do characters, say, decapitate each other for revenge or build sentient robots for the sole purpose of trapping them in a theme park for their own amusement.
