Seeso just announced two new specials from Steve Coogan and Andy Richter slated to premiere before the holidays. The streaming network announced today that a new Alan Partridge mockumentary Scissored Isle will debut on Thursday, November 17th, while Richter’s Home for the Holidays will debut just before Christmas on Tuesday, December 20th.
Here’s more info on Partridge’s special, which is co-written by Coogan, Rob Gibbons, and Neil Gibbons:
Following a controversial on-air incident, Alan attempts to make amends in Alan Partridge’s Scissored Isle, a brand new one-hour documentary. Leaving behind his comfortable existence and vast detached house, Alan heads to the north of England on a deeply personal journey of redemption. With his Land Rover and his dog, he journeys into an unreported Britain inhabited by the very people he had offended to ask whether, in this once united kingdom, a ‘schasm’ has formed - a schism or chasm, between the haves and the have-nots (or haven’ts). From supermarket staff to payday lenders, disaffected street gangs to food scavenging ‘freegans’, Alan pledges to move among them; to understand them; to see the world through their eyes. And, god willing, along the way become a better citizen, a better man and a better, more sought-after broadcaster.
Co-written by Eva Anderson and Matt Besser, Andy Richter’s Home for the Holidays is a UCB special hosted by Richter and is slated to feature a ton of comedians:
Later in the year, Andy Richter is inviting you to celebrate the Holiday Season the right way with his family and all his important celebrity friends including Bob Ducca (Seth Morris), Andy’s Wife (Lauren Lapkus), Andy’s Mom (Betsy Sodaro), Andy’s Son (Mookie Blaiklock), Andy’s Sister (Diona Reasonover), Sappity Tappity the Talking Christmas Tree (Jon Daly), Bjork (Matt Besser), Parody Song Brothers (Paul Ruse and Neil Campbell), Piano Playing Uncle (Mike Cassady), Red Sandwich (Eric Hoffman), Santa (Eddie Pepitone), Michelle Obama (Ego Nwodim) and Talking Gift (Allan McLeod).
The Alan Partridge mockumentary debuted in the UK earlier this year. Check out a trailer below:
