This election cycle has really allowed Seth Meyers to come into his own, and it’s been delightful to have him (and his writers) watching the news so that you don’t have to. On Late Night last night, Meyers took another patented “Closer Look” at Donald Trump’s campaign — this time examining how the Republican presidential nominee is laying waste to the GOP like a reanimated zombie. What did you think you were getting, Republicans? A classy individual who would quietly bow out of the election? No! Trump is staying true to the Trump brand: Trump! Further, as Meyers points out, Trump is already planting the seeds for his supporters to question the election results if they don’t go his way. Just like in a horror flick, the bad guy is never dead when you think he is.
