Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and More Sing for the Purple One at Prince Tribute Concert

Despite some bumps on its road to fruition — John Mayer pulled out of the show earlier this week, while Jessie J replaced Christina Aguilera hours before start time — the official Prince tribute concert did a fitting job honoring the Purple One on Thursday, after his passing earlier this year. Stealing most of the spotlight, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan performed together, dueting on the Prince-penned “1999” and “I Feel for You” (with Wonder on Harmonica for the latter). Other performers at St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center included Doug E. Fresh, Bilal, Tori Kelly, and Anita Baker. And while most of the guests honored Prince through song, the artist’s sister, Tyka Nelson, spoke during the concert. Watch some of the funky musical remembrances above and below.
