Ben Affleck will have to find another forum for his thoughts about Tom Brady, as HBO has canceled Bill Simmons’s weekly talk show Any Given Wednesday a mere four months into its run. The network still plans to remain in business with Simmons and will continue to invest in his media group. “We loved making that show, but unfortunately it never resonated with audiences like we hoped. And that’s on me,” Simmons said in a statement. “But I love being a part of HBO’s family and look forward to innovating with them on other ambitious programming ideas over these next several years — both for the network and for digital.” The last episode of Any Given Wednesday will air on November 9, which, given the current electoral climate, means it may actually outlast American democracy.
