Word broke today that One Direction’s Liam Payne and former Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole, who have been dating for a little under a year, are reportedly expecting a baby. Neither party has confirmed as of yet, but photos of the two together display a tell-tale bump, all the more noticeable on Cole’s normally slender frame:
This is not only big news for the (alleged) parents to be, but also for all fans of U.K.-sourced pop, for this (not yet confirmed) growing fetus has been DNA-level groomed to become a pop-making machine of the highest order. In fact, we’d be surprised if Simon Cowell didn’t encourage this in some non-creepy way. And speaking of Cowell, this is as good a time as any to remind you that Payne auditioned for Cowell and his future (supposed) baby mama Cole not once, but twice, when she was a judge on The X-Factor U.K; he was 14 and 16 at the time, respectively. Watch Cole’s enthusiastic response to that second audition below, and consider that it planted the seed for a literal planting of a (reported) seed many years hence.
