Prepare to add this to your British comedy arsenal. David Mitchell and Robert Webb whom you most likely know from their equally popular sketch series The Mitchell and Webb Look or sitcom Peep Show are returning to television next year with a new “odd couple” sitcom for Channel 4 in the U.K. The as-yet-untitled series will follow the divorced Stephen (Mitchell), who inherits his family’s pub after the death of his “local legend” father. Seeing the pub as an opportunity to finally achieve something substantial in his disappointing life, his plans are soon thwarted when the charming and globe-trotting Andrew (Webb), who was fostered as a teenager by Stephen’s parents, returns home because he “wants his family back.” The polar-opposite men proceed to constantly butt heads and bicker, with Stephen believing Andrew to be a “glib, dangerous sociopath who’s about to steal his family, his business, and his life.” The series has yet to receive a U.S. home. Looking at you, BBC America.
