Warren Beatty: celebrated actor, Academy Award–winning director, person who does not like to vomit. Beatty has been shy about doling out anecdotes during his Rules Don’t Apply press tour, so instead he decided to make one for everybody else: Hey, remember that time you were at that panel and Warren Beatty said making a movie was exactly like barfing? His comments came earlier today during a film event for Deadline. “I’ve been lucky enough to not have to do movie after movie, to have something in mind but not make concrete plans about doing it, until finally I just do it,” Beatty explained, before continuing, “I compare making a movie to vomiting. I don’t like to vomit. It builds up and it builds up until something happens and I think, ‘Maybe I’ll just feel better if I throw up.’ And that’s how I make a movie.” Hmmm, now what’s the likelihood he’s just getting “filmmaking” mixed up with “California Pizza Kitchen?”
