Sad news: Canadian actor, singer, songwriter, and sitcom star Alan Thicke passed away yesterday in Los Angeles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thicke was reportedly playing hockey with one of his sons when he had a heart attack, and he was pronounced dead later in the afternoon after he was taken to the hospital. While Thicke was best known for starring in the ‘80s ABC sitcom Growing Pains, he also served as a talk and game show host in both Canada and the US and wrote many sitcom theme songs including Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life. Thicke was 69 years old when he died.
