We don’t have enough Sally Field in our lives. So it’s nice to know that we can find her on Twitter now, and that she’s just as freaked out about the incoming ruling regime as the rest of us. Field joined the social network on 11/9 — the day after the election if you’ve blacked-out the specific timing — because, as she said in her first two tweets, “Today is the day I’ve decided to join twitter world. To pull my head out of the sand where I’ve been comfortably ensconced and reach out 1/2” and “I thought we were standing up against evil, fighting for democracy by campaigning for HRC, by casting our votes. What now? 2/2” (Props to Field for kicking things off with the proper Twitter formatting.) And today, Chelsea Handler posted a clip from her show in which Field, who uses the beyond-perfect handle @RealMommaGump, talks about throwing herself into the populist discourse. “I want to know why they voted for this man who does not stand for anything,” said Field. “If you look at his past, look at his history, there is no evidence he can do one single thing that he says he’s gonna do! Not one single thing!”

Field, demonstrating her signature hyper-focused exasperation, went on. “I don’t think all the people that voted for him are bad and horrible people,” adding that, “This is why I’m on Twitter! I don’t understand when they call this a democracy, and yet the people are not getting the representation that they voted for! I don’t understand!” Welcome to the internet, Sally. Try not to take the @replies personally, and prepare to encounter a whole lot more “logic” that you do not understand.
