No need to fret, CeeLo Green is doing just fine. Following the release of a disturbing surveillance-style video that showed the singer-songwriter collapsing to the ground after a cellphone suddenly caught fire and exploded in his face, Green is clarifying that the footage was not real, but instead staged for an upcoming music project. “I just wanna let everybody know that I’m alive and I’m well and I’m okay,” he said in a Facebook video. “And truthfully I’m really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today. And actually what you saw today was a clip from a smaller video that we were shooting for a new project I’m doing called Gnarly Davidson. It’s supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity, you know what I’m saying? I’m still gonna release the music, though.” The visibly emotional Green then proceeded to thank his fans for supporting him through the whole ordeal. “But first and foremost, for everybody that love me and care about me, I just want to say that I’m okay,” he explained. “I just want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern. That’s really all I want to say. I’ve had a very difficult day dealing with everything.” The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 press team can take a breather now.
