This Christmas Has Brought Us the Joy of Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard Finally Reunited in Song

Amend your Christmas wish lists, because daytime television has just presented us with the greatest gift America has ever received — bigger and better than even the Statue of Liberty. Today on the View, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken reunited on TV for the first time in 13 years. Take it all in, cherish this moment forever, and be grateful, for it gets even better: The American Idol season two finalists appeared on the show not just to comfort our hearts with the update that they’re still very much BFFs who FaceTime weekly, but to also nourish our souls with a holiday-appropriate duet. They performed “This Christmas” side by side in matching red sweaters, elicited a couple chuckles from the audience, and got so caught up gazing into each other’s twinkly eyes that they flubbed the lyrics at the end. Simon Cowell might scowl, but we’ll just give it an Awwww for effort.
