Kate McKinnon to Star in ‘The Lunch Witch’ Movie

Kate McKinnon just landed another starring movie role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, McKinnon has signed on to star in the upcoming Lunch Witch film, which will make the live-action directing debut of Angry Birds’s Clay Kaytis. Based on Deb Lucke’s 2015 children’s book of the same name, the movie centers on McKinnon as Grunhilda, “a cold-hearted woman who inherits her famous ancestors’ recipes and cauldron in a world where no one believes in magic anymore. When she takes on a job as a school lunch lady, she delights in scaring students — until she meets a timid girl who needs help at school and home and becomes an unlikely friend.”
