New York City’s Naked Cowboy is something of a Times Square icon, and during the presidential election he took to painting “TRUMP” on the back of his signature white briefs. The Cowboy, whose real name is Robert John Burck, feels a kinship with the president-elect, and told Cincinnati.com back in September that “Donald Trump is a freaking red-blooded American man. He’s tall, he’s handsome, he’s strong, he’s successful — these are things you can’t argue with.” Now that Trump has won, the Cowboy is sharing more reflections on the president-elect, and they are … pretty notable! While sitting in the Trump Bar on a recent afternoon, Burck told The New Yorker, “I have an affinity with Trump. I get him. We’re both media promoters, media whores, whatever you want to call it. People get hung up on political stuff, but I don’t care. Black, white, gay, transvestite — just stand up and make something of yourself.” Not content to stop there, Burck also offered a more personal angle on how the coming administration might affect his own life. “Look, my wife’s a Mexican immigrant,” he said. “She still doesn’t have her papers. Maybe she’ll be the next to be deported, who knows? I don’t think he’d do that. But if he does, hey, that’s fate. Plus, it’s a nice thing to have hanging over her head — you know, ‘Do the dishes, or else.’” And you thought romance was dead.
