Another How I Met Your Mother spin-off is in development. According to The Hollywood Reporter, This Is Us writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are working on the new spin-off titled How I Met Your Dad, which would take on the same plot as HIMYM but with the genders swapped. While HIMYM co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas aren’t directly involved in the spin-off, they will serve as executive producers on the show if it lands a series order. How I Met Your Father isn’t the first attempted HIMYM spin-off – back in 2014 CBS ordered a How I Met Your Dad pilot starring Greta Gerwig, but the project never went to series.
